The Essay:

It is believed that the employees of an organization ought to be included in the process of making decisions by senior management. According to me, this should be the case since it would be beneficial.

To commence with, employees in an organization have in-depth knowledge about the systems and can assist the senior authorities to deal with the challenges of a company. This can help the seniors management to steer the company towards their mission. For instance, Mr. Sarvbir Singh, the Chief Executive Officer of Policybazaar.com, has launched a new initiative where everyone shares one suggestion each week to elevate business and it has increased sales of the company.

Besides, when employees get a chance to be involved in big decisions, they have a feeling of ownership for the organisation. This instils a feeling of pride and belongingness to the company and employees would be more committed. They feel more responsible when they are engaged in the mechanism of resolving issues.

Nevertheless, in some companies top authorities arrive at decisions by themselves and do not include their employees in this process. This can save time for a company since the staff are engaged in just implementation and no discussions. However, employees may not feel much oneness with their company and senior managers.

To conclude, I believe that employees ought to be included by top officers of a company in the activity of formulating policies. This would inculcate belongingness and responsibility whereas not doing so may create a feeling of seperation.
