Creative artists should always be given freedom to express their own ideas in words pictures

Creative artists should always be given freedom to express their own ideas in words pictures movies or films in whichever way they wish. There should be no government restrictions on what they do.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion.

There is a view that governmental authorities should impose no curbs on creative artists who must be given complete freedom to bring out whatever they wish to. According to me, this is not good for any society and there need to be some restrictions on the outcomes in the larger interests of a country.

To begin with, an unbridled exhibition of views may lead to hurting the sentiments of some sections of people which might lead to unrest and loss of property or lives. For instance, a recent creative film in India with the title ‘Padmavati’, that depicted the life and conflict between two kings, led to great debate as well as rifts in various classes of people. Later, with government intervention, the film was rechristened and released peacefully. Secondly, with the easy accessibility of the arts of various creative personnel on media, their content needs to be regulated in order to protect the impressionable and naive minds of children who are the future of any nation. Children can easily be led towards negative ways of living which would be harmful for them.

On the other hand, these regulations on artists in all fields should not be stifling so as to encourage and allow free expression in a healthy manner for the benefit of all. Besides, art and its expression is vital for survival of numerous people and hence the freedom to air their creativity must prevail albeit safely, within limits.

To conclude, I believe, rules to control the output of creative persons need to be in place in order to ensure peace and welfare of a country. Nevertheless, art is an essential element of our life and therefore the regulations should be just right for it to flower.
