The Essay Question:

So many animals like the elephant and tiger, are killed each year and some people feel that not enough is being done by governments across the world for saving wildlife. To what extent do you agree or disagree ?

What can be done to protect wild animal ?

The Essay:

It is an irrefutable truth that a myriad fauna die every year and hence few opine that sufficient action is not being taken by governments across the globe. I partially agree with this view since many steps are implemented by governments for the protection of wild animals. However, awareness programs would largely lead to preservation of animals species.

On the one hand, several governmental authorities maintain zoos and sanctuaries for animals to live in their natural habitat. These places are adequately safeguarded from poachers and looked after. To exemplify, as per BBC news, the latest tiger consensus in India indicates a growth to almost 3000, a third more than four years ago, due to strategic measures by the government.

On the other hand, some ruthless people destroy wildlife for personal monetary gains by selling their various body parts. Absence of stringent and tough laws are the primary cause of such wanton killing. For instance, very recently a pregnant elephant was slain in India by merciless locals and the culprits are still at large.

Nevertheless, harsh legal punishment to people who kill animals would prevent their death in the hands of heartless world citizens. People would then be scared to commit such atrocities. Additionally, educating people and students about the significance of protecting all animals would ensure their survival. Often there is ignorance about the importance of ecological balance amongst the illiterate.

To conclude, while some think that not much is done by governments around the world to keep animals alive resulting in their dwindling figures, I partially disagree to it. Investments have been done by many nations to preserve them, although more ought to be done, like stricter laws and awareness campaigns for people, that would lead to heightened preservation.
