The Essay:
Whether it is more advantageous to select companions who have the same views as ours all times or those who differ with us at times is better, is a moot point. Certainly both these situations have merits and demerits.
Possessing friends who are alike in all situations, can bring more fun and frolic. As it is said, the more the merrier. People who are alike, strengthen each other and become like one big family. For example, all the people who participate in a marathon, have the same views about exercise, jogging or walking, which not only promotes happiness but also togetherness amongst them. Furthermore, these common thinking friends, aid in accomplishing an assignment, project or undertaking much faster and without any hindrances. They gel well, support and understand each other perfectly to bring the task to fruition.
On the contrary, if there are friends who have varying ideologies and perspective, it brings a broader vision in life. It increases the knowledge and information in everyone. It can also bring a change in the perception of a person. Additionally, sometimes friends who differ in their opinion, can be beneficial in choosing the right path for us and help in making the most appropriate decision . They sometimes have more experience than us in many situations and can provide a better solution.
To conclude with, according to me both types of friends, those who have the same thoughts as well as differing ideas, are significant. Both these kinds of friends contribute in enriching our life in a positive way, by keeping us on the right track in the journey of life.
