Essay Topic: Some people believe that educational success depends on good teachers. Others think that it depends on the attitude of the students. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Essay A: The cause of success in education has often been a moot point. While few think that doing exceptionally well in academics hinges on good teachers, yet some feel students’ outlook is the key determiner to educational success.
First, teachers can make or mar the interest of a student in a particular subject. A positive, encouraging and committed teacher would mould the teaching practices according to a student, to bring out the best in them. For instance, I scored top marks in science in school since my teacher was inspired and made the subject extremely interesting.
Second, students who are weak can also be moulded by great teachers by giving the right amount of push and challenge. It is often observed that when a suitable environment is created by teachers, students shape up and flower into bright achieves, climbing the acme of educational achievements.
On the other hand, the attitude of a student is a significant contributor to winning in an educational institute. A pupil who is closed and not willing to exert or put in the required efforts, cannot be a winner in the field of education, despite being taught by the best teachers. Additionally, as it is said that where there is a will there is a way, if a pupil is willing to achieve, he or she would find ways and means to outshine others and excel, irresespective of the quality of educators.
To conclude, according to me, the part played by teachers in bringing out meritorious students in the field of education is supreme. Nonetheless, a student’s way of thinking too impacts academic results to some extent.
Essay B:
Educational success plays a pivotal role in one’s life, however, its cause has often been a moot point. Few people argue that it can be attained with the help of efficient teachers, whilst others say it is the attitude of students towards learning that make them successful.
Firstly, teachers have immense knowledge because of their vast experience, learning and observations. They can also provide real-time knowledge of the subject to their students. Furthermore, teachers can provide quick solutions to various problems of students. Secondly, all students do not have equal intelligence level, therefore, trained and professional guidance of teachers, helps students to learn the difficult concepts in a friendly and relaxing ways. Consequently, students can triumph in their education with high quality teachers.
Nonetheless, attitude of students is also vital to achieve peaks in education. If students want to learn different concepts, then self-learning is also a good method. Moreover, doing independent research and experiments on a particular topic, will have long lasting effect on their brain. For example, Thomas Edison and Steve Jobs were mostly self-educated and their attitude towards learning changed the world. On the other hand, if students do not have an interest in education, they would not be able to learn anything despite having highly trained educators.
To conclude, I opine that teachers act as subject matter experts to gain in-depth knowledge in any subject and their contribution to students excelling in academics is acknowledged. Nevertheless, without a positive learning attitude towards studies, students cannot gain scholastic success despite being taught by experts.
Essay C:
Few hold that a teacher can help students accomplish academic goals in their life ahead while yet others believe that the attitude of students is more important to attain heights in education. This is however, a moot point.
Firstly, good tutors can instill confidence and motivation towards studies into students’ mind which is very hard when studying individually. Students continually need to be motivated. Additionally, teachers not only have knowledge of academic subjects but also copious amount of experience of real life situations which can prepare pupils to tackle problems in their chosen stream in future. It is said that better than thousand days of diligent study is one day with a great teacher. Secondly, educators can easily cognize the weak and strong points of a student and the same can be addressed by gurus in school. Hence, good preceptors are imperative for pupils to achieve educational success. For example, I was unable to solve math questions during school time but one of my teachers paid special attention to me and helped me out to solve perplexing math problems.
Nevertheless, academic achievements also hinges upon students’ willpower because a teacher cannot do anything until and unless students want to learn and therefore, pupils attitude is very significant. Moreover, it can often be seen that some students score full marks in exams unlike others, owing to their fervent approach and positive attitude, though the same teacher teaches the entire class.
In conclusion, according to me, educational success depends not only on good teachers but also on students’ dedication and commitment, which play a vital role and therefore combined efforts can lead to success in education.
