It is observed that exhorbitant salary package is drawn by some working people in a few nations. Whether this is advantageous for a nation or governments ought to put a cap on the earning of citizens, is a moot point.
To begin with, multiple jobs are created when business empires provide their employees with enormous amount of salaries for their hard work, especially people at senior level, such as the Chief Executive Office, Vice President and so on.This can be useful for the country as these executives engage various other people to fulfill their personal needs apart from further expanding their businesses, resulting in more work opportunities and increasing the employment rate of the country.
Furthermore, inflated pay of select employees would mean they would pay high taxes, which in turn would help the government to utilise the same for infrastructure development and nation building. For example, several multinational corporate behemoths have their headquarters in the United States of America, whose senior staff pay huge amounts of taxes, which contributes to nation building, thus making it one of the most powerful nations in the world.
On the contrary, few argue that high income of some top workers leads to widening the gap between the rich and poor. To the extent that the rich enjoy all the luxuries while the poor may go hungry. Hence, they contend that a government should regulate the amount of money a person can make, so as to promote equality in society.
To conclude, according to me, high earnings of some people is positive for a country, since such persons pay enormous taxes to the government reserves as well as generate more jobs, although some think that pay must be restricted by the government.
