The Essay:
Whether the countryside or urban area is suitable for better upbringing of children, is a moot point. Both places have their own pros and cons, particularly for children.
To commence with, the backcountry is virtually pollution free, enabling children to breath healthy air. Needless to say, children who live there are healthier and more inclined towards their culture and tradition than those in cities, since the native residents have still retained their cultural values. What is more, it is a relief for parents to send their children out to play, as there are lots of open places with minimal vehicles on road.
On the contrary, living in an urban area almost guarantees children a chance of gaining better education and all-round growth, viz-a-viz the countryside. This is because, cities are equipped with essential learning facilities such as large libraries, museums, zoos and other educational establishments that assist children in their holistic development. For instance, school children in Delhi, are often taken on educational tours to the National Museum of Arts, Rail Museum, National Zoological Park and Gandhi Memorial amongst others, which are a challenge to see, for children in the up-country.
In addition, there are a myriad other options for city bred children to learn and expand their horizon, as they meet children from different cultural backgrounds at school or neighborhood. For example, Amity International School in Delhi, has students from all parts of India, apart from international pupils, which gives children a heightened awareness of an array of cultures, making them tolerant to differences amongst global citizens.
To conclude, according to me, raising young ones in a city is superior, as it gives good education and wider cultural experiences, although the upstate surely provides salubrious locales.
