Essay Topic: World history suggests that violence and conflict were more evident under male leadership than under female leadership. So, for peace to prevail, female leadership can be considered as a better option than male leadership. Discuss both views and give your opinion.
Essay:
It cannot be gainsaid that world history was full of violence and conflicts under the reins of men as compared to women, since the beginning of human existence. However, it is a moot point whether women leaders are more effective in promoting and maintaining peace in the world vis-a-vis male headship.
Firstly, the history of the world overtly illustrates that violence was more apparent under the aegis of male heads. For instance, in both World War one and two, male leadership encouraged violence and hence proved that violence was more obvious under the power of male commanding officers. Secondly, women are peace loving by nature and thus can prevent lot of conflicts from occurring. For example, some Asian countries tried to restore peace under female leadership and they became successful. Hence, replacing men at the highest level with the opposite gender, could be a solution to attain law and order.
Nonetheless, certain women in history depict that they spurred combats. To illustrate this, some countries in Asia, at a certain time in the past , suffered innumerable conflicts during the realm of women leaders. On the contrary, under the male leadership of Nelson Mandela in Africa as well as George Washington in America, their countries witnessed considerable peace and quite. Hence, gender is not the determinant in attaining peace, but qualification and right thinking is the essential factor .
To conclude, I opine that both genders could give rise not only to violence but also calm and none is a superior choice for maintainting omnipresent peace. Besides, what matters is qualification and sanity of mind rather than the sex of a leader.
