The given bar chart illustrates the regular physical activity amongst various age groups of men and women in percentage in Australia in the year 2010. The maximum frequent physical activity is done by middle aged women.
It can be be observed that in the 15-24 age bracket, 52.8% males are active physically habitually, 5% more than women. In the next age group 25-34 years, the trend is reversed and a greater percent of women are active(48.9%) as against 42.2% males. During 35-44 years, the biggest gulf in physical activity is noticed, with 39.5% men( the least across all ages, for both genders) and 52.5% women. Besides, the greatest percentage of females ( 53.3) are frequently physically active, vis-a-vis men(43.1%) in 45-54 age group. Amongst the elderly of 65 years and above, both men and women are more or less equal in bodily pursuits, around 47%.
To conclude, regular physical activity decreases with increasing age in men until 44 years and thereafter goes up. On the other hand, in women it rises consistently up to 54 years with a subsequent decline.
