The Essay:

Whether professionals ought to contribute their services in the nation where they acquire their education or be free to choose their country of work, is a moot point. Certainly both options have merits and demerits.

Proponents of the belief that new passing out professionals must be free to seek employment in a country of their choice, argue that when these young graduates invest money, they naturally wish to have a bright future. Thus they should take up a job anywhere they get best returns for their investment, that would later benefit not only themselves but also the world at large.

On the contrary, continuing to provide their valuable services in the same country where they get trained in, will be beneficial to a country. For instance, a country with a university such as Harvard or Oxford imparting education to students, will gain rewards if these students work in their country. Such skilled workers would contribute in building their economy. Besides, it is a moral responsibility to work for the same country and thus pay back to the nation. A country invests a large amount of money and other resources in training students. Hence, the return on their investments is possible when students work in their nation at least for few years. Additionally, these brilliant professionals would get the benefit of a rich experience locally.

To conclude, according to me, qualified professionals must serve in the nation where they get education for a few years before opting to work in other countries for a brighter future. This way they would pay back to the country and also utilise their talent locally thereby gaining experience.
