The Essay Answer :
Complaining of the trouble of not being able to get sufficient sleep, is largely seen amongst many people these days. According to me, deficiency of sleep can lead to critical issues such as psychological disorder, apart from poor work output. However, meditation is the panacea to dissolve these problems.
First and foremost bad relations are a direct consequence of insufficient sleep since it causes irritaions and impatience. This in turn, adversely impacts behaviour and interpersonal equations. According to a report published in the journal Psychoneuroendocrinology, lack of sleep leads to poor mental health and marital conflicts that could spiral into seperation or depression.
Secondly, sleep deprivation affects physical and mental fitness causing unsatisfactory work output which is most likely to be an impediment to one’s professional progress. To deliver best results, enjoying good health is paramount. This is evidenced by the fact that Toyota found peak performance in their factories when workers were well rested.
Nevertheless, the ancient techniques of yoga, breathing exercises and meditation have proven to be effective in cutting down the body requirements of sleep, while promoting sound sleep, creativity and productivity. It is common knowledge that people who incorporate the above in their routine, can do with lesser sleep hours. Moreover, strict work schedules must be maintained, since working beyond office hours reduces sleep time substantially. Thus, fixed work hours as adhered to in few countries, ought to be the desired goal for having sufficient sleep.
To conclude, difficulty in getting enough sleep is a common complaint in present times. I beleive this results in unhealthy relations as well as a dip in performance. Nonetheless, yoga and stilling the mind, coupled with limited work hours , will go a long way in combatting the difficulty of getting sleep.
