The Essay: In the current times we are witnessing an amalgamation of various customs, people and their lifestyles. This is happening around the world at such a speed that it is becoming difficult to locate the origin of a particular person or salient features of any society. Nevertheless, I feel this is a positive phenomena.
Firstly, people have started shifting their base due to work priorities, academic pursuits and other reasons. Visiting and settling in different parts of the world has made them imbibe the culture and habits of that area. For instance, my brother shifted to Dubai due to his job and hence lived in that country for many years adopting the native culture as well. Similarly, there are people like him who possess a liberal mind and settle in different parts of the world.
Secondly, a plethora of media channels have played an important role in encouraging unity amongst people of different parts of our planet. Advents like Facebook, Twitter and other social sites are providing abundant information about different cuisines, languages and destinations, that is leading people to explore various places. For example, I have a French friend who is not only learning learning Hindi but also likes Indian food very much. No doubt, all these are a positive sign of development as our world is becoming a melting pot, irrespective of native differences.
To conclude, I opine that various cultures mixing internationally has definitely made individuals from different countries to connect with each other in a much more harmonious way, shrinking the world into a global village .
