The Essay Topic: Some people believe that confidence wins bigger games that knowledge alone cannot. Also, that accumulating knowledge makes no sense until one has the confidence to put it to use.

Is it true that knowledge will help one win a struggle only if it is put into practice with full confidence, or is it that confidence without knowledge is null and void?

The Essay :

There is often a dichotomy amongst people whether confidence plays a pivotal role in being victorious in games or knowledge alone is sufficient.  Some people believe that without confidence, putting knowledge to use is a waste. According to me, knowledge coupled with confidence can help to win bigger games.

Firstly, knowledge of any game is crucial in order to be familiar with the rules and regulations of the game. Moreover, knowledge alone helps to understand the technicalities associated with any particular sports. Such information allows players to plan strategies and play the right moves to clinch victory.  Secondly, confidence without knowledge cannot help us to cross the winning line because we cannot estimate risks involved and the efforts we require for a specific task, if we do not have enough information. For instance, the top Indian cricketer Virat Kohli has full knowledge of the the game of cricket which aids in winning laurels for the country in the international arena.

Another pivotal facet of this debate over superiority of knowledge or confidence in winning games is that, even if we have extensive knowledge, we cannot achieve our goals if we do not have the requisite  confidence. Confidence extracts the best effort from us which is critical to win sports competitions. Additionally, as is often seen, sportsmen beat their opponents morally in games if they are brimming with confident.

To conclude, I opine that both confidence and knowledge are vital and without knowledge, confidence is null and void. Needless to say, confidence along with enough knowledge stands people in good stead, as far as winning larger championships are concerned.
