The Essay :

It is believed by some that in coming times there would be no impact of the internet on news and newspapers would continue to be its primary source. However, according to me, this is not true as with the widespread penetration of the world wide web and gadgets, the news on internet will leave a major effect transforming it as the key origin of news.

To begin with, the demand for newspapers is constantly dropping with the progress of technology. After invention of radio, television and internet, the popularity of the printed news had declined and other media have become the primary source of news for many, unlike the erstwhile times. This trend will continue unabated and alternate media will take the place of the print media as the chief origin of information of all happenings. For instance, my father mostly listens to the news on All India Radio on his mobile phone rather than reading the physical newspaper.

In addition, the internet has left a gigantic impact in many spheres of life, of a common man, including the field of news and information. Due to the paucity of time, many working adults and the youth choose to go through the brief of the days events by surfing and reading on the internet. As life becomes more fast paced, the need for newspapers will plummet and simultaneously the effect of the internet as the prime information origin will be pronounced.

To conclude, I believe, the internet as the main source of news is here to stay and will dominate in the future as well due to the growing use of technology, nonetheless, the newspapers will continue to be read, albeit by a smaller section of society.
